We are delighted that the 2021 West Northumberland Sports Awards took place at QEHS on Thursday 9th December, where local volunteers and athletes were recognised for their outstanding contribution and achievements to sport and physical activity in the area over the last 2 years. We were delighted to be under the expert guidance of Allison Curbishley with trophies presented by BBC presenter and local resident Carol Malia.
All nominations are seriously considered, and a shortlist of potential winners invited to the evening where they receive the recognition they deserve. The winner of each category is presented with a trophy whilst the runners up receive a certificate.
In addition, funding through sponsorship was given to individual athletes to help them reach their potential.
This year the first ‘ Lifetime Achievement’ Award was presented to Pauline and Geoff Higgins for their devotion to QE Rowing club over the last 30 years.
