Our heartfelt thanks to Carole Smith, who has just stepped down as a fellow Committee member of Sport Tynedale, having generously supported athletes, coaches and clubs throughout our region for over a Quarter of a Century!! ![]()
Carole, who joined the Sport Tynedale team in the 1990's, also spent time as the Chair of our Committee and her marked contribution over the years has been phenomenal. Her analytical approach, attention to detail and her ability and willingness to see and approach things from a different angle will be sorely missed by us all.![]()
It was a pleasure for us all to spend the evening with her last night having some good food, (a little) drink and plenty of relaxed banter!![]()
Carole, we all wish you the very best - and hope you enjoy your well deserved time with family and friends (and perhaps further refining that swing)!🏌️♀️😜👍

Her fantastic win in Sweden means Charlotte joins a long list of illustrious champions and has booked her spot at the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Lytham & St Anne’s!![]()

Her incredible last 18 months have included:![]()
🏆Victory at the 2025 German Girls’ International Amateur—where she became the first English winner of the event. ![]()
🏆Since then, she has won the Lawson Trophy three consecutive years (2024–2026) ![]()
🏆Was the leading U18 player at the St Rule Trophy![]()
🏆Claimed the individual title at the 2025 World Junior Girls Golf Championship in Canada (earning exemption into the LPGA event) 🏆Secured the individual title at the 2026 Junior Orange Bowl with a four-round tournament record of -10.![]()

In team golf, Charlotte represented Europe at the 2025 Junior Ryder Cup and was the youngest member of the Great Britain & Ireland team at the Curtis Cup.![]()

A BIG congratulations to Magnus Riddell for his fabulous Bronze medal success at the European Under-18 Championships in Rieti, Italy, where in the final of the 800 metres he ran superbly, notching up a near PB time of one minute and 50.12 seconds!![]()

A number of clubs have advised us that they are keen to either attract new coaches or to develop the skills of existing coaches.![]()

Our Coaching Grants are intended to help volunteer coaches achieve recognised coaching qualifications and will cover up to 50% of the cost of a course (to a maximum £250).![]()
