We offer 2 types of grants to members of affiliated clubs and organisations in West Northumberland. To affiliate please sign up to the Sport Tynedale website here.
- To help volunteer coaches achieve recognised coaching qualifications
The number of coaching grants per year are limited, based on the size of the club as detailed below. You can apply for a maximum of £150 or 50% of the course (whichever is the lesser).
- To support a talented individual to develop their skills further at county level or higher… The maximum grant that you can receive is £250 and can be used for things like: kit, travelling and accommodation, event entries and coaching fees.

Who can apply?
(please contact us on grants@sport-tynedale.com if you are not sure about eligibility)
- You must be a volunteer coach or amateur sports participant
- You must live in, or be a member of a club that is based in, West Northumberland (Tyne Valley west of Newcastle, and Ponteland area)
- Sports coaches must be coaching in West Northumberland
- You must be either:-
- a member of an organisation that has signed up to the Sport Tynedale website OR
- live in an area whose town and parish Council has paid an annual subscription to Sport Tynedale
- We cannot retrospectively fund anything – your activity must still be to happen
Grants to sports coaches
To maximise the number of sports clubs who can benefit, we limit the number of coaches from any one club who can apply for a grant each year as follows:-
